Mar 4, 2020: OSDH HCC Conference Call (Region Statewide)

10:00 AM — 11:00 AM

OSDH is hosting an HCC conference call, Wednesday, March 4, 2020, at 10:00am in order to increase information sharing among key stakeholders in Oklahoma's response to the COVID-19 outbreak. Currently U.S. public health agencies are responding to an outbreak of respiratory disease caused by COVID-19 that was first detected in Wuhan City, Hubei Province, China and which has now been detected in 37 locations internationally, including cases in the United States. Imported cases of COVID-19 in travelers have been detected in the U.S. and person-to-person spread of COVID-19 also has been seen among close contacts of returned travelers from Wuhan. But at this time, this virus is NOT currently spreading in the community in the United States. For the general American public, who are unlikely to be exposed to this virus at this time, the immediate health risk from COVID-19 is considered low. However, the potential public health threat posed by COVID-19 is high, both globally and to the United States. Current global circumstances suggest it is likely that this virus will cause a pandemic. In that case, the risk assessment would be different. Agenda: • Opening Comments • Situation Update - International, United States • Oklahoma State Department of Health surveillance, investigation, and traveler monitoring activities • Review and discussion of available interim guidance documents • Identification of issues and needs • Frequency of future calls CONFERENCE CALL NUMBER 1-888-278-0296 ACCESS CODE: 6778090#
